About

Tanille Royston is the founder and owner of the Law Office of Tanille Royston, PLLC.   Because of her passion for helping others, she established the firm to teach clients how to understand a business contract and navigate the immigration process.

Prior to opening up her practice, Tanille Royston worked as the Human Resources Director at a small firm, where she hired and fired employees, drafted handbooks, created policies and procedures, managed employees and represented the employer in unemployment hearings.  As a Human Resources Professional at a large corporation with a strong union, she resolved labor and employment issues, conducted disciplinary investigations, and settled grievances in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

As owner of a small law firm, she advised employers on various employment laws, such as, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Also, she represented clients in hearings, criminal proceedings, pre-trial mediations and depositions.

Tanille Royston also worked as a contract worker for the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division where she analyzed job offers, assessed job positions and established classifications and wages for foreign workers.  She advised managers on employment regulations as well.

One of the highlights of Tanille Royston’s career was when she was appointed as the Magistrate of the 68th District Court in Flint, Michigan from 2007 to 2008.  She was one of the youngest people to serve on the bench in the state.  As a Magistrate, she presided over criminal arraignments, conducted civil infraction pre-hearing conferences and informal hearings.  Additionally, she presided over municipal pre-hearing conferences and small claims cases.
